it to silent mode as they can be distracting. I'd like to remind members that although we
It's important to treat members,

Do we have any apologies for
absence this evening? Thank you chair.
We have apologies from Councilor
Mr Jake Hamilton - 0:00:39
Bookchart Jones and Council. The convales noted that he may be late.
Thank you very much.
Cllr Laura Davison - 0:00:45
I'd like to welcome Councilor Akufo Kelly to the committee.
1 Apologies for Absence
Her first meeting this evening and and
thank you for those apologies for absence.
2 Declarations of Interest
Are there any declarations of interest?
3 Election of the Chair for the Finance and Performance Scrutiny Sub-Committee
There's only one item in front of us this evening, which is the election of the chair
for the Finance and Performance Scrutiny Subcommittee. Following the recent review of the political
balance at full council on Wednesday 26 February, members are asked to note the nomination from
the Labour group to appoint Councillor Chapman as the Labour representative to the Finance
and Performance Scrutiny Subcommittee and to elect a chair of the Finance and Performance
Scrutiny Subcommittee.
The chair must be a current member of the subcommittee and the current members of the
committee with the addition of Councillor Chapman are myself, Councillor Davison, Councillor
Alan Martin, Councillor John Wing and Councillor James Butcher.
So, I think I essentially need to ask for nominations for the role of chair of the Finance
and Performance Scrutiny Subcommittee.
It needs to be one of those councillors whose names I read out previously.
So, are there any nominations or proposals?
Yes.
Cllr John Wing - 0:02:16
Councillor Wayne. Yeah, can I propose Councillor Alan Martin?
You can.
Cllr Elaine Martin - 0:02:25
I think... Can I second that, Councillor?
You can. I second that, Councillor Martin. Elaine Martin.
Cllr Laura Davison - 0:02:32
Let me ask Councillor Alan Martin whether he accepts that nomination. Well, I came here, I was planning to propose a Councillor McOlvill,
Cllr Alan Martin - 0:02:43
who obviously can't be so... Yes, I guess so. I hadn't expected that, but happy to oblige.
OK, thank you. Are there any other nominations?
Cllr Laura Davison - 0:02:56
Just as Councillor McOlvill is probably like, Cllr John Wing - 0:02:59
is it worth different perfumes? In case he doesn't want to, I just don't want to leave Moot.
I'll have to take guidance on that.
Cllr Laura Davison - 0:03:13
Sorry, Councillor Moot, do you mean as in if he has any nominations? Mr Jake Hamilton - 0:03:17
Yes, we don't know, do we? We don't, but obviously we've got his apologies at the moment,
so ideally we need to keep the meeting moving.
Cllr Laura Davison - 0:03:28
I think we'll have to do that, I'm afraid. I just want to leave him out.
Okay, so are there any other nominations?
No other nominations.
In that case, I shall put it to the meeting that Councillor Alan Martin is elected as
the Chair of the Finance and Performance Subcommittee.
Sorry.
Yes, a show of hands.
Please show.
Thank you very much.
That's agreed.
That closes the business of the meeting.
